Parents, help your student succeed

Have you read the latest research on student success? A key factor is parental involvement in the student's educational program. Here are some ways that you can make a difference in your student's success here at BCCA. Please note that parental involvement is not a requirement for acceptance or continued enrollment at BCCA.

1. Support your student.

• Ensure daily, punctual school attendance of your student.
• Monitor the daily and weekly completion of your student's work.
• Provide transportation to and from all school activities.
• Provide or facilitate instructional assistance for the student.
• Participate regularly and actively in parent meetings, activities and workshops.
• Ask questions proactively or seek assistance from BCCA staff.

2. Support the school

• Support the discipline codes and behavior guidelines of Buckingham Collegiate Charter Academy and Vacaville Unified School District.
• Complete all applicable school paperwork and meet stated deadlines.
• Stay informed by reading the BCCA handbook, school newsletter and other school communications, and by visiting the BCCA web site(s) regularly.
• Show respect for all charter school students, parents and staff.

3. Volunteer

• Campus beautification
• BBQ, dances, fundraisers
• Feel free to choose a volunteer activity from the volunteer activities list below

Examples of Volunteer Activities

*** All parents, guardians, and community volunteers must complete fingerprint clearance through the district before participating in any school-related activities. This requirement applies to all forms of volunteering, including field trips, classroom assistance, and driving students. No individual may volunteer or transport students until fingerprinting has been completed and cleared by the district.

We encourage families to begin this process early to avoid delays in participating in school events. 

To begin the process:

• Complete the Volunteer Information Form - this form must be completed annually, while fingerprinting is a one-time requirement.

• Submit the form to the school office for the principal's signature.

• Once the form has been signed, you will need to pick it up from the school.

After receiving the signed form:

• Use the phone number listed at the top of the form to schedule your fingerprinting appointment.

• Please note that fingerprinting appointments are only available on the days and times listed on the form.
